4 Tips to Make the Most of eBay Open

It’s almost time for the biggest “sellerbration” of the year! July 23-25 is eBay Open, eBay’s annual seller conference in Las Vegas. If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket, get ready for a whirlwind of awesome opportunities you won’t find anywhere else. 

Open participants have the chance to network at nightly mixers and parties, chat with suppliers, and attend informational sessions with eBay executives. But with the conference just over two days long, how can you be sure to fit it all in? That’s where we can help.

Check out our top four tips to make the most of your eBay Open experience: 

1. Plan Ahead

eBay Open centers around educational sessions held by eBay executives and reselling experts. This year’s event offers 23 total panels and Q&A sessions, but limited workshop time slots. To ensure you don’t miss those most relevant to you, make a list of “must attend” workshops ahead of time. List them in order of importance, or even make yourself a schedule so you can stay on track.

2. Network, network, network

One of the most unique aspects of Open is the access it provides to top eBay executives and experts. Though it may seem intimidating at first, come prepared to chat about your experiences, suggestions, and potential reselling questions. Who knows–one of your ideas may make its way into eBay’s updates!

In addition to these experts, there are also a TON of fellow sellers who are eBay pros in their own right. If you have questions or are looking for a bit of advice, these are the people to ask! Be sure to bring business cards and have a quick 30 second “elevator pitch” about what you sell to get the conversation going. This will help you create connections, hear about others’ experiences, and even form some lifelong friendships.

3. Visit the Vendors

In between networking and workshops, leave time to visit the vendor booths. Unlike other trade shows or conferences, Open only allows a select group of sponsored vendors to participate. This means all suppliers and service providers are organizations you can trust. 

With vendors including payment services, merchandise sources, and software selling tools, you’re bound to find something new to help advance your reselling business. 4. Enjoy the “Sellerbration!”
