How and Why To Submit A Resale Certificate to BULQ

Did you know? If you don’t have a resale certificate on file with BULQ, you may be required to pay sales tax on future BULQ transactions. That potential burden for you business can add up!

How to Submit Your Resale Certificate

In order to be exempt from sales tax moving forward, simply email your valid resale certificate to our Customer Care Team at help@bulq.com. Both electronic copies and photos/images of paper copies are accepted. Please allow one business day for us to verify your account. That’s it! Your certificate will officially be on file with us.

How to Obtain a Resale Certificate

If you don’t have a resale certificate, but would like to get one, please follow the instructions for your state’s process provided by the state taxing authority. You can find more information by checking out this list of resale certificate rules in each state.

    Do you have to have a resale license if you’re only buying for yourself and don’t have a business

      Hi Vickie- No, you do not need a resale certificate, you will just be charged sales tax on your BULQ purchase.

    I don’t have resale license but I love to buy for myself. I don’t have company but i love your product that why I only buy this once a year. Do love to see what new thing you have because I also do craft with my kids because I work for the Independent School District. Sometime they ask me for something to do with the student and I always have thing to do with them. That when I found you and to buy anything that I love used or make thing out of. So if I have to be charged sales tax. Please tell me I will pay sale tax.

      Hi Esmerelda- You do not need to have a resale certificate in order to purchase from us, you will just be charged sales tax according to your state’s laws. This sales tax has already been included in your previous orders. Hope this helps!

    Would like clarification, I’m new to this.
    If I don’t have a resale license I would be charge more that what the total is, but if I do I get a discount?

      Hey Francisco,

      As a retailer, you can avoid paying sales tax on items that you source for resale as long as you have a resale certificate. BULQ is required to collect sales tax in certain states, unless we have a copy of your reseller certificate. In states where we are not required to collect sales tax, however, you may still be responsible to that state for sales tax on your online purchases. So, in short, if you HAVE a resale certificate, you won’t have to pay sales tax on your BULQ purchases. If you DON’T have a resale certificate, then you will likely have to pay sales tax on your BULQ purchases, unless your state says otherwise.
