Meet Colleen- BULQ’s Community Manager

Hey there, BULQ® Buyers — Colleen here! For those who don’t know me, I’m BULQ’s Community Manager in charge of helping build, grow, and manage BULQ’s network of resellers. Essentially, I communicate the voices of our audience to the BULQ team to make sure we’re meeting our customers’ needs while consistently advancing what BULQ can offer. But the best part of my job is getting to talk and meet with our customers online and at trade shows.

Whether you’re new to BULQ or a longtime BULQ buyer, you’ll probably be hearing a lot from me. So, let’s get to know each other a bit!

How did you get started with BULQ?

I first started with BULQ a few months after graduating from college in Charlotte, North Carolina (go Niners!) as a Customer Care representative. Having little prior knowledge about the reselling world, I immediately became fascinated with the industry and all the individual stories I’d hear from resellers. After a year and half of working in Customer Care, I transitioned into the role of BULQ’s Community Manager. You can expect to see me on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as attending reseller trade shows!

What is the best part of working at BULQ?

The best part about working at BULQ is hands-down my ability to speak with and meet our customers. Everyone has their own unique reselling story and avenue of selling. I love meeting people and watching their business grow (often across social media) and celebrating  successes with them.

Your top tips for using BULQ are…

  • DO YOUR RESEARCH! We provide detailed manifests for all BULQ lots, which are available to view and download for free, even if you’re not logged in to an account. Researching products before you buy will help you make the best purchasing decision for your business, which helps prevent you from investing in inventory that might be hard to move.
  • Familiarize yourself with BULQ’s lot conditions. At BULQ, we try to be transparent as possible, especially when it comes to our product conditions. Before buying, we recommend that you  educate yourself on our condition descriptions, explained in the video below, and even check out a few BULQ unboxing videos to set clear expectations for the products you will be receiving.

  • Download the app! We know resellers live busy lives, so you need to be able to source inventory wherever you are. That’s why we created the FREE BULQ Mobile App for Android and iOS. With the app, you can receive push notifications when new inventory that matches your preferences is listed, save lots using our “Watch List” feature, quickly review manifests, and buy lots with just one touch. It’s a must-have for any reseller.

How would you describe yourself in 10 words or fewer?

Curious, fun-loving, traveler, analytical, communicative, helpful.

What would you most likely be doing on a normal Saturday afternoon in your free time?

On a typical Saturday afternoon you can usually find me catching up on chores, attending an exercise class, or going to the museum (I’m very lucky to live in D.C. where they are free)!

    I have 2 cases. The first was pretty easy to identify and post. (All womens shoes).
    The second case, New Apparel I am not sure how to use the UPC’s, and when I do tpe them in or scan them I come up with “No info found”. Hooked on Picken mentions something about how to do this more efficient but, I still am not ‘getting it’. What am I missing?

      Hi Jan! We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble doing some product research. If you’re finding the UPC’s are not providing you with the results you’re looking for, we recommend simply searching for item by the entire product name (provided in column C of your manifest). We hope this helps!

      Hi Sandy – We’re currently testing the option for customers to pick-up orders, but we don’t have any public options available just yet. Make sure to subscribe to BULQ emails and to our social media channels so you can be the first to know when new features launch!

    I’m interested in selling at Farmers Markets and/or Swap / Flea Markets. Do you have any information on this type of markets?
