Liquidation Pallets: What to Expect for Your First Purchase

Liquidation Pallets: Take Reselling to the Next Level

Liquidation Pallets – What to Expect on Your First Order

Thinking about scaling up your online reselling side hustle? It may be time to start sourcing liquidation pallets! But, what do you need to keep in mind before you receive your first pallet delivery? Read on for our step-by-step BULQ pallet guide.

Buying Your First BULQ Liquidation Pallet [Video]

Step 1: Plan Ahead for Liquidation Pallets

When looking to grow your reselling business, pallets of liquidation inventory are a great way to source more items at a cost-effective price point. But, there are a few things to know before hitting that “purchase” button.

Factor in Pallet Shipping Costs

First, familiarize yourself with BULQ’s pallet shipping costs. BULQ’s calculated rate varies based on the pallet’s size, weight, density, and distance from its final destination. When doing pallet pricing research on the manifest, you’ll need to factor in shipping costs to determine your reselling margins. Is this inventory going to be profitable?

Multiple Liquidation Pallets at Once

Next, consider adding multiple pallets to your order to receive the lowest freight rates per pallet, and increase your margins for resale. Make sure you have enough space to store your order once it’s delivered. However, if you are completely new to reselling, we encourage testing the waters with a single pallet or case before ordering multiples at a time.

Know the Pallet Delivery Requirements

Lastly, understand BULQ’s pallet delivery requirements. Unlike cases, which can be dropped off at any time, pallets require scheduled deliveries. In order to coordinate delivery, you must include the name of the receiving customer, a regularly-checked email address, and an active phone number.

Keep in mind, if a BULQ or shipping company team member can’t get ahold of you at the time of delivery, your pallet may be delayed or marked “refused,” making it ineligible for a refund. Learn more about our shipping requirements in our FAQs.

Step 2: Get Liquidation Pallets, Shipped Right to Your Door

Pallet Transit Time

All BULQ liquidation pallets are shipped using a third-party logistics provider. Although total shipment time can vary based on location, most pallets arrive within 7-10 business days. As with all BULQ orders, you’ll receive an order confirmation email with a tracking number to help estimate your pallet’s arrival.

Pallet Delivery Tracking

Once the order is placed and fulfilled, a third-party provider will ship your pallet to a local freight forwarding service for delivery. This will be reflected as “Transferring to Delivery Terminal” and “Checked into Delivery Terminal” statuses in your tracking information. Once this happens, the shipping facility will call your provided phone number to schedule delivery.

Step 3: Pallet Unboxing Time (Yay!)

How Your Liquidation Pallet Arrives

Your order will arrive on a freight truck that includes lift gate service if your address is marked as residential in your account.  That means you won’t need any special equipment to unload the pallet. However, keep in mind that pallets are large (measure approximately 48”x40”x42”) and often heavy. Be sure to have plenty of space cleared out to receive and unbox the merchandise.

Share Your Pallet Unboxing

Many resellers also use this receiving/unboxing experience as a chance to create video content to share with other resellers. Learn more about how to create your own pallet unboxing video for YouTube here.

Issues with Pallet Delivery or Liquidation Items?

Document Pallet or Inventory Damage

If you notice damage or improper handling of your BULQ liquidation pallet during delivery, be sure to note it in your Bill of Landing (BOL). You will be asked to sign your BOL once the delivery is complete. You should also take photos to document these damages before unboxing your merchandise.

Pallet Delivery Issues

If there’s an issue with your actual delivery, please contact help@bulq.com within 24 hours. DO NOT refuse the order, as refusal charges will be applied. No refunds will be issued for orders refused at delivery or for failing to schedule delivery with our third-party freight carrier.

I’m looking to buy a pallet of laptops electronic notebooks etc. Anyone have anything like that for sale? I have 10 stores to market to. This could be an ongoing thing with multiple orders of more than one pallet. Thanks

      Hi Rashford,

Thanks for your interest in BULQ! At this time, we’re only able to ship within the 48 contiguous United States. However, we’re happy to ship to a freight forwarding address within the US.
Here’s a suggestion of a freight forwarder other customers have used – they will likely be able to provide you with cost estimates.

      Hope this helps!

Do you get to see what is on the pallet before your purchase or do you order the merchandise?

      • Courtney Herb August 1, 2019 at 9:18 am #

All of our lots are fully manifested, so you’ll get a complete list of everything included in your case or pallet, including UPCs, ASINs (if available), quantities, condition, etc. Manifests are viewable both directly on each lot listing as well as in a downloadable Excel spreadsheet. You do not need to purchase a lot in order to view its manifest.

Are the pallets $200with shipping or$200for shipping only and what kind of product is on the pallets I’m a first-time buyer and is cash or credit or C.O.D.

    • Courtney Herb July 31, 2019 at 2:25 pm #

      Hi David,
The $200 is JUST for shipping each pallet; it is a flat rate. However, when you look at the cost of a pallet in each listing, the $200 shipping charge is already included in the final bolded price. So, for example, the price breakdown for pallet that is listed as $1,183 is $983 for the pallet itself and $200 for shipping.

We have a wide range of inventory available in pallets! We have six different product categories – Computer & Office, Consumer Electronics, Toys & Baby, Home & Garden, Apparel & Accessories, and General Merchandise. Take a look at our newly listed pallets here to start browsing: https://www.bulq.com/lots/search/?sort_direction=desc&sort_field=updated_at&lot_size%5B%5D=Pallet

Finally, we accept most major credit cards, PayPal, and PayPal Credit (formerly Bill Me Later). PayPal Credit provides you the flexibility to pay for purchases over time. To pay with PayPal Credit, select the PayPal option at checkout and choose PayPal Credit as your preferred method of payment. If you have never checked out with PayPal credit, you will have to go through a quick approval process.
